Mixin Explorer Scout Holiday camp was held over the weekend of 26th – 28th September 2008 from the 5th Petts Wood. The camp was attended by 80 plus Explorer Scouts and their Leaders mainly from Chislehurst District, but some from as far away as Scotland!
The camp benefited from unusually good weather for the time of year, although the temperature dropped off over night.
The camp kicked off with a camp fire on the Friday night after all the sites had been set up. On Saturday the Explorers had a full day of activities including crate stacking, pioneering, sausage making, bouncy castle, shooting, archery and field games. After dinner the Explorers changed into their western theme fancy dress for line dancing followed by a disco. On Sunday there was a mass wide game across the whole of Downe Camp Site followed by the closing ceremony.
At the closing ceremony we welcomed our newest three Explorers, Ben, Jamie and Ollie, who were invested by Rhys our District Commissioner.
We extend our thanks to the District Team and Network who put in their time and effort to make M.E.S.H such an enjoyable camp for us all.
