Remembrance Parade 2008

The Group joined up with the Petts Wood British Legion in their parade on Remembrance Sunday 9th November. The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers all carried flags in the parade, and we laid a wreath on behalf of the Group. Fireworks Night 2008

5th Petts Wood Scout Group and the Bearded Ladies Explorer Scout Unit will be running another spectacular Fireworks & BBQ on 6th November at Wilborforce Scout Camp site near Keston. (note change of venue this year) The evening includes Fireworks, BBQ, Fire Juggling, Guy Fawkes bonfire and loads of fun. Ticket on sale soon. Mixin Explorer Scout Holiday camp was held over the weekend of 26th – 28th September 2008 from the 5th Petts Wood. The camp was attended by 80 plus Explorer Scouts and their Leaders mainly from Chislehurst District, but some from as far away as Scotland! Here are some photos of the Cubs from when they were away during the summer camp at Albany District Scout Camp, 20th-22nd June 2008. This was a weekend Camp where the Cubs had the chance to spend 2 nights sleeping in a tent, and to earn some badges. They built shelters or Bivouacs in the woods, lit a fire and cooked their dinner, had games in the woods and, when it was dark, much more…………

Scout Camp Windermere 2008

From 25th to 30th May 2008, a group of Scouts went up to Great Tower, Windemere. Activities included sailing, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, caving, zip wire, high ropes, hiking in the Grizedale Forest and, last of all, a medievel banquet evening. Family Camp 2007

Family Camp 2007

Annual Family Camp and AGM at Albany District Scout Camp for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their families. Lots of fun was had and activities included: Saturday: arrival, erecting tents, Andy’s ‘Cultural Hour’, kids played water games (a water fight against the dads on their return from the ‘Cultural Hour’), Annual General Meeting, evening barbecue followed by singing round the campfire. Sunday: Full English breakfast, more outdoor games, woodland ‘word search’ walk, de-camping.
