The 5th Petts Wood (Methodist) Scout Group began in June 1961, and the Rover Scouts (the older boys) followed on in November 1964. The Rover Scouts were later renamed Venture Scouts, and more recently Explorer Scouts. Through the 1970’s the Group was very successful running 2 Cub packs and 2 Scout troops. The Cub Scouts are for boys aged 8 to 10 1/2. Most Cubs join us from the Beaver Scouts, but we do take new boys in when we have spaces. The Cub pack provides FUN and ADVENTURE for the boys. Beavers

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association and are aged 6 –8 years old. We currently have a full unit of 24 members and we meet once a week on a Tuesday evening. Remembrance Day Parade 2014

As usual the turnout of all of our scout sections did us proud.  Despite the cold everyone met in High Street for a short parade through the streets of Petts Wood as part of the Centenary commemorations for those who fought and died in the First World War. March from Chatsworth Parade to St Francis Church for a short service then onto the Memorial Gardens for the Wreath laying and 2 minutes silence.
